4 Demons of Hell
continued from 5 Demons of Hell http://wonder404.blogspot.com/2016/06/5-demons-of-hell.html?view=magazine
Peter Binfield, German bishop, theologian, and witch hunter prepared a classification of demons in 1589, based on the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, lust ,envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. In "5 Demons of Hell" Mammon's greed, Beezlebub's gluttony, and Leviathan's envy, and more were covered. This list covers the remaining 4 princes of hell and their specialties.
Here is a list of 4 More Demons of Hell:
#4 Belphegor
Belphegor is the demon of sloth, one of the seven princes of hell. He is known to tempt men with laziness or seduce them with ingenious ideas and invention that will make them gloriously rich. His power is stronger in April and his number is a palindromic prime, a prime number that remains the same when the digits are reversed. The number is 1000000000000066600000000000001, and it is know as Belphegor's prime due to is demonic associations. It consists of the number 666, and on either side and it is enclosed by thirteen zeroes and a one. Belphegor is thought to be the demonic ambassador to France, so his adversary is St Mary Magdalene, patron saint of France. Belphegor began his career as the Assyrian Baal-Peor, the false god the Israelites became attached to in The Old Testament (Numbers 25:3), who was associated with licentiousness and orgies. (Note: licentiousness=really bad in the bible) He was worshiped in the form of a phallus but later as a demon, he is described as a "disputer," an enemy of the sixth Sephirot, beauty, the way in which god reveals his face, according to some Kabbalistic writings. If Belphegor is summoned, his role is to create chaos among men and seduce them to evil through the granting of riches and discovery.
#3 Asmodeus
Asmodeus is the demon of lust and tempts mortals to evil by twisting their sexual desires. He was present during the building of Solomon's Temple and according to the Kabbalah, Asmodeus is a cambion, the offspring of a demon and a human. Born as a result of a union between a succubus and King David of the Jews. In The Book of Tolbit, Asmodeus loves a human woman, Sarah, and uses his powers to keep all other suitors away. Until the angel Raphael intercedes. In the Talmud, Asmodeus is tricked into helping construct Solomon's Temple, but not before he uses his considerable sexual lures on some of Solomon's many wives. Another passage describes him marrying Lillith, credited as Adam's first wife. Soon after, Lillith becomes Queen of Hell. Yet another legend tells of Asmodeus being conceived of a union between Adam, the first human, and the angel of prostitution, Naamah, while Adam was married to Lillith. Asmodeus's adversary is St John and his strongest month is November. He is king of hell and prince of vile revenges, under Lucifer the Emperor. Asmodeus commands 72 legions of demons.
#2 Lucifer
Lucifer's name means bringer of light or bringer of dawn, and he is a fallen angel that reins over hell as it's supreme ruler and emperor. He is known by Christians as the left-hand to God, and the first to fall from heaven in banishment after leading a revolt against God. His sin is pride and his most powerful month is May. In Islam Lucifer's name is Iblis, and he was banished from heaven for refusing to prostrate himself in front of Adam. He asks for respite for this sin, which God grants, this enables him to avoid burning in the fires of hell only until the "last day." Still, Lucifer swears to get revenge on God by tempting mortals into sin. In this story Iblis is a Jinn, as are all demons in Islam literature. Angels are said to be made from light, a demon or jinn made from fire, and human beings made from clay or earth.
"How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. Those who see you stare at you, they ponder your fate: 'Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, the man who made the world a wilderness, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home?'" Isaiah 14:12
#1 Satan
Satan, better known as the snake who tempted Eve with an apple from the Tree of Knowledge, is the demon of wrath and the prince of witches and warlocks. His most powerful month is March, when he tempts mortals to evil by twisting their anger into hatred and obsession. Satan's adversary is St Anthony, and he is one of the seven princes of hell under the emperor Lucifer.
"But from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'" The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die! "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
