CHILD PORN FOR WOMEN?

Alissa Nutting. Her book "reveals the mind of a predator, a female paedophile." Alissa Nutting's Tampa

Alissa Nutting has written a book about a female teacher who is sexually obsessed with 14-year-old boys.

The book "contains graphic sex scenes."

It is the kind of book that would have been available only in porn shops in days gone by.

In popular usage, a pedophile is anyone who finds sexually attractive kids to be sexually attractive.

This could mean that most women are pedophiles.

It may be more accurate to say that a pedophile is someone who finds prepubescent children more sexually attractive than older people.

Definitions of Pedophilia vary.

Child porn for women?

Tampa, by U.S. author Alissa Nutting, tells the story of teacher Celeste Price, aged 26.

Celeste is married.

Celeste says of her husband: "My real problem with Ford is actually his age... thirty-one is roughly seventeen years past my window of sexual interest."

Celeste has told The Times that the book is a 'social satire'.

She says it is about how boy victims of female teachers are treated differently from girl victims of male teachers.

Alissa Nutting says: "We're able to see male sexuality as being powerful and violent, and we're not able to see female sexuality that way in our society."

'Tampa,' a novel by Alissa Nutting, puts female sexual predator in focus

Teacher Debra Lafave was given probation after having sex with a 14-year-old boy. Alissa Nutting went to school with Lafave

Alissa Nutting says: "It's one thing for an adult male to think, 'gee, she looks great, I'd like to have sex with her' - assuming the boy is able to consent as we are, which I think is untrue. When the victim is female we don't do any of that.'"

She says that when the victim is a boy, the tendency is for people to think he wanted sex; whereas when the victim is a girl, people think she was 'taken advantage of'.

She said: 'I wanted to satirise the ways that these cases are received in society. Always looking to excuse the woman rather than look at it as a criminal case, the way we do with men.'

Alissa Nutting did not like how the media concentrated on how Debra was an attractive blonde.

She says: "With a boy, the reaction is so extreme as to have people say no crime was committed - 'what a wonderful learning experience, it will make him more popular'."

Why I keep Alissa Nutting's book Tampa locked away from my daughter

Is there such a thing as the typical heterosexual female?

In 16th Century England, 13 year-old Elisabeth Ramsbotham complained that her 11 year-old husband, John Bridge, had not yet deflowered her.

Elizabeth Báthory was not a typical female.

She was a child abuser.

Mary Kay Fualaau (above) is an American schoolteacher who had sexual intercourse with her 13-year-old student.

Some people get picked on, because of the group they belong to.

Laura was Black.

Reportedly, she was gang raped before being murdered.

Richard II, aged 29, married his wife Isabella of Valois in 1396 when she was aged 6

Child brides were once the norm.

In the late 16th century the age of consent in England was 10.

Does Child marriage involve pedophilia?

The Marquesas Islands have been noted for their sexual culture.

Many sexual activities seen as taboo in western cultures are viewed as appropriate by the native culture.

One of these differences is that young children are introduced to sex at a very young age

In parts of Ethiopia and Nigeria numerous girls are married before the age of 15, some as young as the age of 7.[13]

In parts of Mali 39% of girls are married before the age of 15.

In South Africa a person might be married as young as 12 for females and 14 for males.[12]

"Although we cannot prove a causal connection, democracy followed shortly after the institutionalization of pederasty in a number of Greek cities.

"Many if not most Greek theorists hailed pederastic couples as founders, restorers, or protectors of libery (such as the heroic pederastic Athenian tyrannicides Harmodius and Aristogeiton).

"They even associated pederasty with eunomia ('good government')...

"Almost every upper-class Greek boy outside Sparta and Crete (both of which strictly limited intellectual instruction) had a devoted tutor, whom he in turn loved, to inspire him mentally as well as morally.

"As the great Victorian student of Greek pederasty, John Addington Symonds, declared: What the Greeks called paiderastia, or boy-love, was a phenomenon of one of the most brilliant periods of human culture."

According to statistics from 2005, 45% of women studied were married by the age of 15 in Bangladesh.[13]

Roughly half of Yemeni girls are married before 18, some as young as eight.[20]

Among the Atjeh of Sumatra girls formerly married before puberty. The husbands, though usually older, were still unfit for sexual union.[29]

Among the islanders of Fiji, also, marriage took place before puberty.[29]

Jon Henley in The Guardian, 3 January 2013, writes about the different types of Paedophiles.

John Henley writes:

(wonder404's comments in brackets)

1. "A paedophile is someone who has a primary or exclusive sexual interest in prepubescent children."

(Now, what about the large number of men and women who find prepubescent children sexually attractive, but, whose primary interest is in older people? Is it 'the norm' to find some children sexually attractive? Is Henley's definition one that everyone would agree on?)

"The Sex Offenders Act 1997 (UK) defined paedophilia as a sexual relationship between an adult over 18 and a child below 16."

(For some people, the image of the pedophile is the harmless old female music teacher who likes boys; or the distinguished writer Thomas Mann who liked boys; for some people the image of the pedophile is Marc Dutroux.)

2. "In 1976 the UK's National Council for Civil Liberties wrote: 'Childhood sexual experiences, willingly engaged in with an adult, result in no identifiable damage … The real need is a change in the attitude which assumes that all cases of paedophilia result in lasting damage.'

(What about the young 'Lolita' who seduces lots of older lads? Can we be sure that there is never any 'damage'?)

Mark Twain and Dorothy Quick.

3. "Not all paedophiles are child molesters, and vice versa: by no means every paedophile acts on his impulses, and many people who sexually abuse children are not exclusively or primarily sexually attracted to them.

(A female school teacher once told us that (1) she and most of her female colleagues found certain 13 year old students sexually attractive (2) none of them would ever molest the children.)

Michael Jackson

5. "Nor are paedophiles necessarily violent: no firm links have so far been established between paedophilia and aggressive or psychotic symptoms.

"Psychologist Glenn Wilson, co-author of The Child-Lovers: a Study of Paedophiles in Society, argues that 'The majority of paedophiles, however socially inappropriate, seem to be gentle and rational.'"

(Some pedophiles are aggressive and dangerous; some are gentle and rational. The ones who get into the news are in the former category)

Teacher Pamela Turner (above) had sex with a 13-year-old student. Deb Lafave reportedly had sex with a 14-year-old student. Mary Kay Letourneau married and had two children with the boy she 'raped' when he was 13. They are still together. Website.

6. "Sarah Goode, a senior lecturer at the University of Winchester and author of two major 2009 and 2011 sociological studies on paedophilia in society, says the best current estimate – based on possibly flawed science – is that "one in five of all adult men are, to some degree, capable of being sexually aroused by children"Even less is known about female paedophiles, thought to be responsible for maybe 5% of abuse against pre-pubescent children in the UK."

(We suspect that these figures are too low.)

Baden Powell liked boys.

7.  Research at the sexual behaviours clinic of Canada's Centre for Addiction and Mental Health suggests that "Paedophiles' IQs are, on average, 10% lower than those of sex offenders who had abused adults."

(This of course is nonsense. Most of the elite pedophiles simply do not get caught. It is mainly the 'dumb' people who get caught.)

"Research at the sexual behaviours clinic of Canada's Centre for Addiction and Mental Health suggests  that paedophiles are significantly less likely to be right-handed than the rest of the population... Paedophiles may be wired differently."

(Again, it is only the 'losers' who are being studied.)

Germaine Greer (above) wrote: 'If nature didn't intend boys to be seduced by older men and women, why did it make them so damnably fetching, so downy-cheeked, rangy-limbed and pert-buttocked?'

(If most people are capable of finding some children sexually attractive, then the above may be misleading?)

CS Lewis on Pederasty. 'Littlebear' wrote: "I believe C.S.Lewis was a paedophile. A university tutor of mine once mentioned that he enjoyed taking pictures of young children who 'weren't wearing very much'".

9. "'Broadly speaking, in the world of people who work with sex offenders here, (paedophilia) is learned behaviour,' says Donald Findlater, director of research and development at the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a charity dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse, and, before it closed, manager of leading treatment centre the Wolvercote Clinic."

(These 'sex offenders' who have been caught may not be typical.)

Among bonobo apes, which are reputed to be sociable creatures, sex takes place between males and males, between females and females, between males and females, and between adults and children. Bonobos, according to recent research, may be closer to us than chimps; bonobos share 98% of our DNA. Website for this image

10. "The vast majority of sexual violence is committed by people known to the victim," stresses Kieran Mccartan, senior lecturer in criminology at the University of the West of England. Only very rarely is the danger from the 'stranger in the white van', Mccartan says."

(There has been a lot of sexual violence in orphanages and children's homes; reportedly the security services have 'used' large numbers of orphans as sex slaves.)

Thomas Mann liked boys.

11. "Questioning the lasting damage caused by consensual paedophilic relations... there is no academic consensus on that fundamental question – as Goode found...

"Findlater says the notion that a seven-year-old can make an informed choice for consensual sex with an adult is 'just preposterous. It is adults exploiting children.'

"Goode says simply: 'Children are not developmentally ready for adult sexuality,' adding that it is 'intrusive behaviour that violates the child's emerging self-identity' and can be similar in long-term impact to adults experiencing domestic violence or torture."

(There is a difference between (1) an adult raping a two year old and (2) a 15 year old girl hugging  the boy next door. There is a difference between (1) some youngster living in the Marquesas having sex and (2) some youngster living in Tennessee having sex)

12. "A Dutch study published in 1987 found that a sample of boys in paedophilic relationships felt positively about them.

"And a major if still controversial 1998-2000 meta-study suggests - as J Michael Bailey of Northwestern University, Chicago, says - that such relationships, entered into voluntarily, are 'nearly uncorrelated with undesirable outcomes'.

(It is possible to imagine a 'neglected boy' or 'neglected girl' being helped by a kindly 'uncle figure' or kindly 'aunt figure'; it is also possible to imagine boys and girls in Amsterdam ending up in the mafia-run sex trade.)

13. "Writing last year in the peer-reviewed Archives of Sexual Behaviour, Bailey said that while he also found the notion 'disturbing', he was forced to recognise that 'persuasive evidence for the harmfulness of paedophilic relationships does not yet exist'.

(Let's not forget the pedophile rings linked to the security services).

14. "For Goode... broader, societal change is needed. 'Adult sexual attraction to children is part of the continuum of human sexuality; it's not something we can eliminate,' she says.

"'If we can talk about this rationally - acknowledge that yes, men do get sexually attracted to children, but no, they don't have to act on it - we can maybe avoid the hysteria.

(Women also get sexually attracted to children)

"We won't label paedophiles monsters; it won't be taboo to see and name what is happening in front of us.'

"We can help keep children safe, Goode argues, 'by allowing paedophiles to be ordinary members of society, with moral standards like everyone else', and by 'respecting and valuing those paedophiles who choose self-restraint'.

"Only then will men tempted to abuse children 'be able to be honest about their feelings, and perhaps find people around them who could support them and challenge their behaviour before children get harmed'.

(Too many people find it difficult to be rational when it comes to subjects such as 'Pedophiles', 'Moslems', 'Blacks', 'Jews', 'Catholics'... It is all about 'moral standards' and 'self restraint')

~~

"Dr Liz Davies argues that we do not have full statistics of abuse of children by ‘strangers’ e.g. the children who go missing and are never found are not counted by anyone and abductions do not count within the child sex abuse statistics.

"If there is one point we can learn from the Savile expose – it is that it highlights the extent of ‘stranger’ abuse. This is very important too."

~~

In conclusion: we should try to take a Buddhist attitude.

For the Buddhists, all visual attraction is the reaction of the lower self.

Fleshly charm does not last and is in a sense unreal.

In other words, you don't need a girl/boyfriend; and the girl/boyfriend's sexiness is a bit of an illusion.
