The West should prepare for Assad's victory in Syria, writes Con Coughlin in the Telegraph.
Con Coughlin has links to MI6.
He writes in the Telegraph that "the time has now come for Western leaders to get their collective heads around the idea that Assad is going to emerge victorious."

Antoin "Tony" Rezko born in Aleppo, Syria, in 1955 was one of Barack Obama's earliest financial supporters.
Rezko has links to Nadhmi Auchi, 71, an Iraqi-born billionaire and resident of the UK since 1980.
Auchi owns the Luxembourg - headquartered General Mediterranean Holdings, a $5 billion to $6 billion company focused on the worldwide hotel industry and used by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein as a mechanism through which to purchase weapons.
Auchi loaned Rezko $3.5 million dollars on May 23, 2005--one month before the Obamas and Rezkos bought their adjacent Chicago properties for $2.275 million.
Rezko connects to another Iraqi-born (dual U.S. citizen) named Aiham Alsammarae, 57, who put up $1.9 million of Rezko's $8.5 million bail.
Alsammarae was appointed Iraq's Minister of Electricity--a ministry he then plundered. He got caught, was convicted of corruption and imprisoned.
But several months after his family and friends sought help from Obama's office, Alsammarae escaped.
Nadhmi Auchi has links to a Syrian named Nadi Sajid, who is bagman to President Bashar El-Assad of Syria.
According to Coughlin:

Journalist Con Coughlin, of the UK's Telegraph, gives us some clues as to MI6/CIA thinking on Ukraine.

Coughlin thinks there is a possibility that Putin might order the annexation of Sebastopol, "which is home to Russia's vast and decaying Black Sea fleet."
According to Coughlin: "At the very least, we can expect Mr Putin to reduce - or attempt to reduce - post-Yanukovych Ukraine to a level where it can no longer function as a unified state."
This could be translated as saying: - We can expect the USA and NATO to reduce Ukraine to a level where it can no longer function as a unified state.

Coughlin gives reasons for believing that Russia is not in a strong position.

Russia's sole aircraft carrier, the 65,000-ton Admiral Kuznetsov, "a Soviet-era rust bucket that can make the occasional forays to Russia’s naval base at the Syrian port of Tartus, but would be no match for its more powerful US counterparts."
